Over the past several seasons, I’ve had the opportunity to coach and develop a talented group of 12-16 year-old athletes. Below is a snapshot of the teams I’ve coached, the focus areas we prioritized and a memorable moment from each season. Our teams have steadily become more competitive as my coaching approach has evolved and refined over the years.
Fall ‘24 - Jewel City Realtors
League: 16U Glendale Babe Ruth
Record: 9-2
Coaching Focus: most of our players were 15-16, so we wanted to prepare them for the demands of HS baseball. Emphasis was placed on baseball IQ, having a 2-3 pitch arsenal and developing the discipline needed to compete at the next level
Memorable Moment: Xander hitting a HR off the CF light pole at Scholl Canyon Ball Field
Fall ‘23 - Crippen Mortuary
League: 16U Glendale Babe Ruth
Record: 8-3
Coaching Focus: featured a mix of older and younger players, creating a unique focus on both player development and high school preparation. While younger players worked on building a strong fundamental base, older players refined their skills and adapted to the faster pace of the game to get ready for the next level.
Memorable Moment: Andrew throwing a 5 inning, 2 hit, 7 strikeout shutout
Spring ‘22 - CV Tile
League: 12U Glendale Babe Ruth
Record: 4-8
Coaching Focus: developmental year, with a group of younger players ranging from 10-12 years old, including several with limited playing experience. The focus was on building a strong foundation - teaching fundamental skills, instilling good habits, and fostering a love for the game.
Memorable Moment: Nick made a spectacular play from center field, catching a deep fly ball and firing a perfect throw to home plate to complete the double play.
